So, I am at my in-laws and they have the History Channel. Tara finds it extremely annoying that I watch it just about every time I am here but I can't help it...I am history junky. Somewhere around my first year of collage I had a great teacher who really made history come alive for me. Ever since then I can't get enough. I basically like all history, but I really enjoy ancient history. One really good book for biblical studies is Bruce Malina's "The New Testament World." Really tries to get in the heads of first century Jews around the time of Jesus.
Anyway, so here I am watching the History channel again. And I am involved in sermon prep for this week. I told Tara she has to help not to make it too historical, cause as much as I like it I know there are people out there who will be board out of their mind. Get to the point, I say.
