Are You Kidding Me?

Apparently they will give anybody a microphone these days because 'Joe the Plumber' is now a war correspondent for Pajamas Media; a news and opinion network.  ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! So, this guy was unknown to the public until the recent elections when he questioned Obama on his proposed tax policies.  Then McCain jumped on his questions like a playful tiger, teasing out any drop of political life that he could in the following presidential debate.  In fact the name "Joe the Plumber" was mentioned 23 times by the candidates in that debate.

First off, this guy isn't even a licensed plumber and is self described as 'unemployed.'  But he is employed now.

Second, I am sorry but I want my news from professionals.  I know the media has its issues, but at least they can ask a proper question.  Here is a sample of Joe's reporting.  (He is in Israel interviewing an Israeli reporter.)

Joe: The story here is that people are being killed and the media is slanting it and trying to make it Hamas is, uh, as far as, that Israel is being bad.  Do you believe Israel is bad?
Reporter: Do I believe it?
Joe: Do you!?
Reporter:  Well, I am Israeli so...
Joe: So answer the question!
Reporter: No I don't think Israel is bad.
Joe:  Do you think Israel has the right to protect itself?
Reporter:  Yeah
{Pause}
Joe:  You do!?
Reporter:  Yeah.
Joe:  Have you said that on air?
Reporter:  I'm just a reporter.

This is the kind of journalistic excellence we can expect from Mr. Wurzelbacher.  Joe, if you are gonna do something do it right man.  Go study, prepare, and then execute.  Don't just fly by the seat of your pants on the whims of your opinions.  Opinions are the very thing you attack.  But let me say this, there is no such thing as an unbiased report.  We all process our experience through filters.  It takes a lot of discipline to become aware of our filters and then limit their affect in our communication.    So please, for the sake of the common person, for the sake of any person who chooses to listen to you, either step up or step out.
